Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso
Perched on the side of the mountain overlooking Lake Maggiore, the Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso remains one of the most beautiful places to visit from which to enjoy an atmosphere of peace and tranquility from its terraces. It was inhabited in a discontinuous way until its foundation, which legend attributes to Blessed Alberto Besozzi, who was shipwrecked here and dedicated his life to prayer; since 2018 it has been guarded by the Franciscan Fraternity of Bethany.
